History

Héli-Inter opened its doors at the beginning of 1998 on the St-Honoré airport’s site in the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean region. Three years passed during which the transport company consolidated its assets and gradually developped new markets.

With the passing years, the owner, Mr. Benoît Allard, realized that he needed to strategically position the company on the Québec territory in order to be more competitive. The Abitibi region—the door to the James Bay—therefore constituted an excellent opportunity for the company’s development. In 2002, he thus decided to move Héli-Inter’s head office to Malartic, in the surroundings of Val-d’Or, while keeping an operating base at St Honoré airport. The brand new and modern building in Malartic could then accomodate about ten helicopters. Between 2002 and 2004, the company kept expanding by breaking into new markets, which led to an increase of the fleet, which is now made up of between 17 to 19 helicopters of different types and models. From that moment on, the building was not meeting the company’s growing needs anymore. In 2006, the owner thus carried out a major extension to the premises to fill those needs. Today, Héli-Inter owns modern, suitable premises and holds an important place in this highly competitive field. With its diversified helicopter fleet and its courteous, competent personnel, the company is equipped to adequately satisfy the needs of its many clients.
